About the Image(s)
I took this pic in January 2019 in Cuba. A picture I previously passed over, but thought better of it. I cropped, straightened and made adjustments. I took down the white papers as much as I "could" without turning them grey, but I don't like how bright they are. So I used a Mask and added contrast, changed color a bit, and darkened as best I could to look more natural. I also brightened his face and eyes, and darkened his clothes. Taken with a Fujifilm X-T3, iso 1250, 1/1000th of a second at f2.8 using a 16-55mm lens.

Well seen and I like what you have done to it post processing. You have done very well with the newspaper and it blends in well. Everything lovely and sharp. All the tones are lovely and natural. Might have liked a bit more space in front of him but can see why you have cropped tight to leave out the chap walking along with his shopping!!.

Wonderful street photography capture, Randall! I really like what you have gone with this photo! A big difference from the original! I think you captured this man's mood perfectly! I'd love to know what he was thinking! Great job!   Posted: 05/02/2023 11:53:15
This was definitely worth revisiting. The crop is perfect and your colour adjustments are excellent. His eyes are so sharp and looking into the distance, making you wonder what his thoughts are. Well done!   Posted: 05/02/2023 14:27:10
Nice job of isolating him out of the original photo. The post processing you did works well. To add more space in the front of him, could you have added more canvas?
The "street photography" is sometimes a difficult genre but can result in some great photos.   Posted: 05/03/2023 10:08:10

It was worth the try to edit and highlight the seated gentleman with the newspaper. It gives me the impression that this is someone who is thinking about the bet he will send to the bookmaker. At the first glance i thought he was a smoker. After enlarging your photo i realised that he is not. Is he? Thank you Mr Randall!   Posted: 05/04/2023 02:54:39
I agree, as I thought he was a smoker too, but it is his thumb. I appreciate your comments about your impression of his thinking.   Posted: 05/04/2023 08:40:28
