About the Image(s)
This month I’m sharing another image that is made of two images of the same scene. One image is sharp and the other is handled with Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). I moved the camera upwards rapidly during the exposure.
My settings were 31mm (46mm eqiv.), 1/80 sec for the sharp image and 0.17 sec for the ICM (blurry) shot. After the initial tonal adjustments in ACR, post processing in Photoshop and NIK Silver Efex Pro included placing the ICM version in a layer above the sharp image, reducing the opacity of the ICM layer. And using a layer mask to reveal more of the sharp layer at the bottom and in some other areas to show sharp leaves. Next, the conversion to B&W in Silver Efex Pro and using Levels to adjust the tones. I also applied Topaz DeNoise AI (Standard Model) to remove noise and sharpen. Taken with a converted Nikon D300 with a 720nm filter.

You and I did similar things this month...albeit for different purposes. I like the impact and visual appeal of this image very much. Very moody and ethereal.   Posted: 05/01/2023 09:07:43
As soon as I opened the image, I fell in love with it. What a nice way of combining the two images. It's something I always wanted to do, and you've prompted me to do so!!
The image has all the elements of IR with high visual impact.
Gary has summed it up nicely. Full marks for imagination and creativity.

What you present here is really a fine art image. The way that you managed to combine the two pictures shows a finesse that not all could achieve. True creativity.   Posted: 05/07/2023 11:17:43
I love it. You've taken the Orton idea to whole new level in this. I just might have to steal this idea. <g>   Posted: 05/07/2023 15:24:51
As our colleague Palli "said" Full Marks to you for a creative rendering of a forest scene. I like the mix of motion and detail, not something typical of ICM, and the toning.
Well Done
