Magic Flowers by Rick Finney, APSA

March 2023 - Magic Flowers

About the Image(s)

All photo adjustments are made in Luminar Neo. This was taken with an iPhone camera. The main difference is I used the dodge/burn tool to run along the edges of the petals of the dahlias to affect the illusion of 3D.

Nice one Rick. Phones can be great
I went with a square crop on this to eliminate the distractions on the right.   Posted: 03/17/2023 10:25:07

Agree with your change. The green at the right was an immediate distraction on first view. Both changes by Miriam and Tom work well.   Posted: 03/24/2023 15:54:29

Lovely flowers, Rick. I agree that there are distractions on the right, so I cropped them out but kept the same ratio as yours. Finally, I rotated the image 180°. Thoughts?   Posted: 03/19/2023 14:43:23

VEry pretty image! i prefer the crop that eliminates the green. and maybe trying to create more depth by darkening the background flowers a touch.   Posted: 03/24/2023 16:55:02

A very nice capture ;a center composition in a square format i s better. I would put the yellow flower dead center which would give a circular composition   Posted: 03/25/2023 12:56:07
