About the Image(s)

This beautiful church is the college church for St Louis University. After I had the photo the way I wanted it in color (adjusted the skew to straighten the verticals, reduce the noise, contrast, etc.), I used the Black and White adjstment in Photoshop to get the monochrome treatment I wanted. I thought the lone figure toward the front right of the church added a sense of scale. Settings: f/11, 1/5 sec., ISO 6400 (was set to automatic, although I used a tripod and didn't need to do that) and 18mm focal length.

Wow, Cindy, a stunning image! The strong lines and curves, the perfect (imho) tonal variation, the sharp focus and depth of field, and yes, the person sitting in the pew to give a sense of scale and adds interest all contribute to this being an all-round keeper. Beautiful!   Posted: 09/10/2023 23:06:04

Beautifully image. I would live to shoot churches like this. I did do a little burning on the floor and windows. Makes me want to go there.   Posted: 09/19/2023 13:25:09

Cindy, very nice image. I like the composition as I am led right into the scene and up to the altar and the dome above. Nice repeating patterns and I agree that the person adds scale. Very nice.   Posted: 09/19/2023 17:56:44
