About the Image(s)
Shot at 1/15, f13, ISO400, 31mm lens.
Was shooting a monument, hence the settings, as I noticed this couple walking hand in hand through the trees. So this is a 'grab' shot - not very sharp. But viewing it on my monitor decided that I like it well enough, mostly for the story. Processed in Adobe RAW, PS, Nik Col Efx.
As always much appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Gunter, nice grab shot. I'm wondering if you thought about cropping from the bottom to remove the sidewalk and empty space while also cropping in from the right to remove the bright space to the left of the large tree trunk. My thought is that removing that bright sky (with nothing in it) would put all the emphasis on the couple walking and it would make them larger in the frame.   Posted: 09/06/2023 16:47:57
Thanks, Bob
I debated getting rid of the the sidewalk, but decided to keep it in - even though it's just a sidewalk, it does add a bit more interest to the foreground - and also allowed for a bit of light to keep the eyes focused on the middle.
As for cropping on the right, I think I prefer just darkening the white, bright cloud - I like the full width in order to exaggerate the isolation of the couple.
Just my taste.   Posted: 09/14/2023 19:35:12

I like how the sun on the grass leads me to the couple, which are nicely framed by the trees. I agree with Bob that the brightness on the right is somewhat distracting. While the sidewalk doesn't add anything, cropping above it would remove too much of the sunshine that creates the leading line. Could maybe clone out the sidewalk? Not sure it would be worth the effort though. Overall, nice image.   Posted: 09/09/2023 09:22:29
Thanks, Elaine - see my reply to Bob.
Again, nice to have you on board.   Posted: 09/14/2023 19:36:38

I think this would be a great black and white shot. Also I'm in favor of a good crop.   Posted: 09/12/2023 14:55:45

Your B&W and tight cropping is certainly an improvement over my colour version. I did not realize that by getting rid of the colour, it would put more of a focus on the walking couple. Thanks for your suggestion.   Posted: 09/14/2023 19:27:20

Hi Gunter, a really good spot and your timing is spot on.
I think I agree about doing some cropping and the B/W version is very powerful.   Posted: 09/16/2023 15:30:05

Your version also works very well. The original looked very much like your version - the reason I darkened it, was the story was the couple walking through the woods - not the foliage.   Posted: 09/18/2023 19:53:02
