This little 'quaking ladies' wildflower has seemed to me to be so delicate and pretty that I am happy each spring to locate them, since they don't usually grow with other spring wildflowers. This year, I found some growing near my home, so have had the opportunity of capturing them several times. I like this angle the best. It does require getting the camera (and myself) quite close to the ground! I attempted to blur the background (with the 300mm focal distance), but probably had the f-stop too high to be effective.
Adjustments to the original image.....cropped, selective color enhancement, some dodge and burn. Simple ps adjustments.

What delicate wildflowers. Plus you were successful in blurring the background.   Posted: 05/03/2023 09:52:33

Thanks Deb, and yes, I finally shot an image that I like of this little delicate flower! I took many shots, tho, from many different angles and camera settings!   Posted: 05/05/2023 04:53:11

Wanda, those blue flowers against that slightly out-of-focus background works well. I like the angle you chose to show this arrangement as well. Enjoyed viewing this.   Posted: 05/09/2023 12:38:35

I like the simplicity of the shot. A painterly filter would be interesting as well.   Posted: 05/09/2023 13:00:15

I like your composition and also like Deborah's suggestion of trying a painterly filter. Hope you try that and then submit it to our group at a later date.   Posted: 05/22/2023 21:04:57

Thanks Kathy. We'll see if I have the time! I don't usually use a painterly filter, but if I can, I'll try !   Posted: 05/23/2023 04:34:09
Just beautiful. I liked the blurred effect and the flowers standing out. Very well done.   Posted: 05/28/2023 09:13:17
