About the Image(s)

This image was taken on the bird feeders I have in my front yard. This particular cardinal very much likes to frequent our feeders, and I hope to see her often to work on getting some good pictures! Edits made include a crop to focus more on the cardinal. Removing part of a shepherds hook that a neighboring feeder was on, adjustments to noise, saturation and applying a high pass filter. She is more sharp now but I feel that it could be a bit better?

I tried to edit it roughly with darkened background, and brightened subject with gradient. I cold have taken more time to refine it, but you get the idea.

It is a good composition and well cropped. I like it.   Posted: 05/07/2023 16:35:02

Nice image of the bird. The cropping looks good. The image looks foggy. The blue cover on the top portion is a distraction. Otherwise, you should have included more of the feeder roof and more space in front of the bird. Walter's edit looks better. I tired a different cropping with level as well as curve adjustment.   Posted: 05/09/2023 08:46:48

What a nice capture. Birds are so hard since they are constantly moving. I cropped about the same as Mohanan. Topaz AI Clear to sharpen things up. Camera Raw to brighten up the bird, add contrast, exposure and a touch of Vibrance and Texture. I added blur to soften what looks like screen on the background flowers(?).   Posted: 05/18/2023 01:10:32

Very colorful bird! You have two problems.

First is, that the bird is in shadow, so colours are not so vibrant.

The largest problem is too much cropping. So the photo looses sharpness and noise increases. You must come closer to the bird. First possibility is larger zoom (better lens or camera). The second possibility is to come closer physically. If the bird is too timid, photographers use tent to hide.

It's good, that you have possibility to repeat the photos more times.   Posted: 05/23/2023 08:17:17

Pretty bird. If you wait until the sun is in front of the birdhouse or to the left, the light will give the bird more sharpness and less noise. Also, as Bogdan pointed out, too much cropping. Leave more birdhouse in front of the bird.   Posted: 05/28/2023 14:54:31
