About the Image(s)
My camera club took a recent weekend trip to Univ. of California at Santa Cruz to the Arboretum. We worked hard to photograph the few hummingbirds the were there -- in mating season. This, I think, is an Allen's Hummingbird but it could be an Anna's. Shot with my Nikon D 7000 and Tamron 150-500 lens at F 5.6, 1/4000 sec., Auto ISO at 2800. There was a lot of digital noise so I took it into Topaz Denoise AI and made simple adjustments for lighting.

That is gorgeous! I really don't know what more you could have done. Well done. I think it might be a Rufus hummingbird btw.   Posted: 05/17/2023 20:23:14
I just found out it's an Allen's Hummingbird, Male.
Of course the males are "prettier" because they are trying to attract a mate.
Thanks, Maria !   Posted: 05/17/2023 21:37:54

Beautiful picture of the humming bird. I love the colors.   Posted: 05/20/2023 14:12:10
Beautiful. I would clone green into the upper right to make the background more homogeneous.   Posted: 05/20/2023 14:24:09
Very colorful image - and at 1/4000 sec you certainly froze the action! Background is muted, yet even at f5.6 the bird and flower are all sharp. Consider cropping in a bit from top and right. Overall, well-done!   Posted: 05/21/2023 15:50:07
