About the Image(s)
Another shot from the photo retreat to the Badlands of South Dakota. I don't typically shoot sunrises, so this was a rare occasion. The geological features in the midst prairie land is pretty amazing. Sony a7rIV, Tamron 28-75 2.8 lens, 400 iso, f10, 1/60 on a tripod.

What an unusual scenic shot of the badlands. You caught the light just right. Would cutting some off the right side make the canyon appear deeper? Good color and sharp.   Posted: 09/04/2023 16:29:23
I took your advice and cropped on the right. It was magic how it made the canyon look deeper. Thank you!   Posted: 09/11/2023 16:34:23
I noticed the right setting for DOF and details. The light sprays on some parts of the prairie is the key point in this image. This is my personal feeling.   Posted: 09/04/2023 21:45:05
You caught the rising sun just right. Without that break in the colors of the image, the foreground, while beautiful geologically speaking, would not be enough to make the image as interesting as it is.

Excellent photo. The rising sun made it. Sharp, good color. The prairie provides interest and contrast to the rocks. I like Neal's idea of cutting a bit off on the right side.   Posted: 09/11/2023 16:13:07
Nice shot! and I like the curvature you captured or lens, adding to the immensity.   Posted: 09/12/2023 15:41:16
You must have had a little smoke in that area to get that much color in the background. I do like the way that it compliments the sky and adds even more interest to the image. Did you consider taking a vertical shot to include more of the canyon at your feet?   Posted: 09/17/2023 08:12:17
