About the Image(s)

When I took this (inside a Starbucks), it was his face, hood, and beard that attracted me. So I cropped and processed for that. However, it struck me that the original might be a fine story telling image as well, so I'm putting them both in to ask your opinion. Processing was rather simple once I was able to lighten the upper part of face and eyes. The Brush tool in Camera Raw is what I used for that.

Who would ever imagine that you could get a character like this in a Starbucks. A character with a computer. It appears that the light on the face comes from the computer. The wrinkles in the coat really stand out. Nice face. Good work.   Posted: 05/13/2023 16:41:24

What a fascinating face! The eyes are very intense and I like the details in the leather jacket as well I didn't think about the light coming from the computer until Neal pointed it out. Nice work!   Posted: 05/16/2023 10:30:32

The sense of place and mirror add to this wizardly snapshot. The starbucks cup I would reduce to just a sliver just to help the viewer with the place, setting.   Posted: 05/17/2023 14:00:12

I like the way that you cropped this better than leaving it as the original. If you had moved the camera a little more to the left, to make more of a connect between your subject and the cup it might have made a difference. It is an interesting character. I would like to see a little separation between the top of the hood and the object above.

I agree with the comment of Mr. Neal. Although snapshot, the mood of the Hood Man was well caught. Well done! I like it.   Posted: 05/25/2023 02:51:13
