Tom, yes this is very chic! I like your treatment of this -giving it aa sepia tint and hazy vignette. I'd try to remove the background motoring or street sign if you could and also the man seen next to the lamp shade as once you've seen them, then your eye kind of goes to both and they are perhaps slightly out of keeping with the rest of the mood of the image. The toy doll on the right could also be brought up a little more with some selective burning in. And although it is in keeping with the bicycle, I'd take out the stand it's supported by because without it the bike will still look as if it's standing up OK.   Posted: 09/09/2023 06:09:31

Thank you Peter - excellent suggestions. I originally took image with the intent of hand coloring flower bouquet on bike
and little attention paid to rest of image.   Posted: 09/09/2023 13:55:21

Tom, Nice storytelling image. Love the antique look to this image. I have a feedback. I used photoshop and camera raw. I selected the bike and inverted and made the background blurry. I cleaned up the spots on the ground and a few on the wood around the bike. I also took a black paint brush and painted the black parts of the bike to bring out the bike more. I also used a black vignetting.   Posted: 09/10/2023 10:09:44

Thank you Linda for the New look; a different picture!   Posted: 09/10/2023 13:19:28

Maybe I went over board? Sorry. I love the feel of this image. Good catch.   Posted: 09/11/2023 06:37:35

No worries Linda. I enjoyed your input. Perhaps this winter
I will open photoshop, etc.   Posted: 09/11/2023 19:46:36

Hi Tom,
Nicely done. The antiqued treatment complements the old bicycle with the kickstand. Your composition is reminiscent of yesteryear. The good old days.
I agree with Peter to remove the reflection of the street sign. Everything else flows nicely with the story. I like it.   Posted: 09/12/2023 10:33:19

I agree that your treatment is a good complement to the subject. Unlike others, I am not worried by the signage - for me its reminder of the real context serves to highlight the humor I see in the antique processing.
My one possible suggestion would be to take the bottom right corner left a little and up a bit more - as I think this makes the bike more of a subject within the image (which it deserves).

Hi Tom. This image is so romantic and old fashioned (and I mean that in the best way). I agree that some of the window reflections, such as the street sign, detract from the image. They add busy-ness, but also because the sign looks too modern for the style of the photograph. I like the sepia-toned look!   Posted: 09/25/2023 16:41:24
