About the Image(s)
This dahlia grows with its' head facing downward. I have a variety of dahlias in my garden, and each one has different characteristics. I love them all. I processed the image in Photoshop and applied a filter in Nik Silver Efex.

Barbara, I happened to see your monochrome dahlia image while scrolling through all the amazing imagine DDG. I thought it was beautifully done, cropped perfectly and very detailed and delicate . Love it!   Posted: 10/05/2026 01:52:54
Thank you, Tom. I appreciate your kind comments.   Posted: 10/05/2026 13:25:37
Love this image. Very graphical interpretation you got from the filter. Amazing how it preserved the veins while reducing the petals to very defined white, grey and dark regions. Very interesting indeed.   Posted: 10/05/2026 21:30:56
Thank you so much, Chris.   Posted: 10/05/2026 21:46:34
Barbara, what a great choice to capture the "looking down" flower rather than a boring "standing up" one. Even the curve of the stem brings character to this image. Your post processing really takes this image to the next level. To me, it almost looks like a ballet dancer with arms gracefully expended. WOW!   Posted: 10/07/2026 20:57:15
Thank you, Terry. I have different varieties of dahlias in my garden. This one blooms with its' head facing down and the stem is very curvy. It is unique. I'm glad you liked it.   Posted: 10/08/2026 13:46:04
