IR certainly brings out the clouds, but I find the rest a bit 'white', but that's just a matter of taste. Compositionally I like the way you contrast regularity of the lampposts with that of the trees. A manicured landscape surmounted by a chaotic sky. Very interesting.   Posted: 04/06/2026 09:08:48
Magnificent! The IR effect makes it look like a winter wonderland. Good perspective and depth of field. Love the dramatic sky. Nicely composed. Great job, Mark.   Posted: 04/07/2026 19:08:15
Mark, this is a very dramatic image of a very 'ordinary' scene. So your techniques have worked well to achieve this. I like the stark lampposts and their shadows but find the clouds a little too lumpy but that is matter of taste.   Posted: 04/08/2026 09:53:13
Mark--I like IR because I like the surreal whiteness. This seems like a particularly appropriate subject for IR with the dynamic sky, the beautiful old lampposts, and the path contrasting with the silvery lawns and trees. The human figures appear so tiny but they remind us this is a man-made landscape designed to seem perfect. Beautiful.   Posted: 04/09/2026 16:50:14
I am always impressed by how you manage to make such sharp and technically perfect photos handheld. This time using infrared technique you have created a dreamlike, almost otherworldly atmosphere that would not have been possible with a conventional convert to black and white. Compositionally, the receding line of lamp posts draws my eyes deep into the frame and provides a strong structural rhythm that is very pleasant. Cloud formation is spectacular but makes me a bit dizzy.   Posted: 04/13/2026 18:58:22
