A few years ago we were in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, and just our good luck we were there on market day. The Munsterplatz next to the cathedral is the site of a large, busy weekly market with lots of vendors and activity, including street musicians. The whole scene was a photographer's paradise and I took lots of pictures. I love portraits and this gentleman's face was very interesting to me; it's one of my favorites from that day. I hope you enjoy it.

Great portrait of the musician, Kathleen. His expression shows that he is mindful of his music. Good details on the man. I might darken the upper right and upper left bright areas of the frame, or maybe crop them out. I like it. Posted: 12/09/2025 15:07:02

The gentleman's face and expression are interesting.
I think it might have been better to include his right hand on the instrument. Cut off as it is, I want to see more.

This street portrait documents a lovely memory of the market day you spent at the Munsterplatz in Germany. It demonstrates strong observation skills and an authentic moment. The man's concentrated expression and natural stance is genuinely interesting to everyone who looks at your image, while his instrument's diagonal line adds dynamic energy to the composition. If you have more shots of him, would it be possible to include the top of the instrument?
