Three Silos by Barbara Asacker

December 2025 - Three Silos

About the Image(s)

These silos caught my attention as I was waiting to buy ice cream at a local farm. It was a clear day with an interesting sky. Processed in Photoshop and Nik Silver Efex.

Fantastic image - well done. The dramatic sky is just perfect as a contrast to the glowing silos, while the texture in both the corrugated metal and the striped ventilation bands is truly beautiful. I love it. When I first saw your image, I wondered a little bit about the barn roofs in the lower part of the image. They created interest and tension and for that reason my eyes looked even more closely at your image. I feel that those roofs contribute both to the narrative as they ground the silos in a farm context, and to the visual interest as their graphic forms break with the rhythm and tones of the three silo towers.   Posted: 12/11/2025 18:13:25

Well done in monochrome with side lighting that helps to highlight the texture of the three silos.   Posted: 12/18/2025 15:11:46

Barbara, this is a dramatic image which works very well in nono. You van managed the lighting very well avoiding any burnt out areas. The three silos reach for the sky like rockets and suggest power and stability. Great job.   Posted: 12/19/2025 08:59:54
