About the Image(s)

Ever since taking this grab shot in a small restaurant I have been trying to work out whether it is any good or not and whether the work I have put into it in post-processing has been beneficial or even useful.
I saw this man waiting for his lunch and was taken not only by him, his look, his tee shirt and his attitude and of course by his reflection in the glass on the wall beside him. From time time when I lookout this image I wonder whether I have actually photographed twins who have fallen out with each other! But of course it is just one man but two of him. Maybe it’s two photographs and not one or maybe I ought to clone in his head and shoulders peering through the window? I’ll be interested to hear what you think. Taken on a Fuji XT1 1/125 @f3.6 ISO 200

A great picture in the street photography genre. As such, all the clutter of the table and background is an intrinsic part of the shot. Well done for seeing the potential of the reflection. I like the way the heart, on the right hand side, has given him Mickey Mouse ears.   Posted: 07/11/2025 13:08:08

Well captured, Peter. It's very good. The reflection with a different view of his face makes the image a success. The details are so sharp it doesn't look like a reflection. I don't think you need to make any changes. It looks great as is.   Posted: 07/13/2025 17:58:15

An interesting take on a common cafe/diner scene. The mirror image of the same person but with different expressions adds interest and tells a story -- tension between the two selves!   Posted: 07/14/2025 00:13:33

Peter--I think this is a cracking good image. I love the fact that he is looking right at the camera and engaging with us, the viewers. He has a wonderful face with furrowed brows. The reflection is very interesting because it seems to provide us with a second "copy" of the guy, which seems similar but not identical. The graphic on his shirt contributes a dynamic detail, and, as Robin noted, he has extra "ears". I really enjoyed looking at this. Congratulations!

Kathleen, thanks very much. It's a shot which often divides people just as the image itself is divided in two!   Posted: 07/26/2025 16:32:51
