Graffiti Pier Swing V by Mark Lieberman

May 2025 - Graffiti Pier Swing V

About the Image(s)

This image was taken handheld with an Olympus EM5MarkIII with a Zuiko 12-25mm f4.0 lens at 27mm in aperture priority, f16, ISO 200, 1/80 sec with multi-segment metering. The original image was captured in color and converted to monochrome in Luminar Neo. Adjustments were made to bring out the details in the shadows and to enhance the cloudy sky. The setting is an old railroad pier in Philadelphia which dates back to 1860 which was used to offload coal from ships in the Delaware River.

I Think, this is a fine composition, just a look through a window. The swing is not in the center, a bit moved to the right. That's ok.
In my opinion the image would be "more alive" when the swing would be swinging. And: The contrasts are not hard as they should be. So the image looks flat to me.
