About the Image(s)
My husband and I recently visited Outer Banks, and while there we stumbled upon an empty stadium in the middle of a National Park. There were thousands of empty plastic chairs, all looking the same and stretched out in a half circle around a podium. We were the only people there, and the feeling these empty chairs created was surreal and a big loneliness. I asked my husband to sit in one of those chairs as I would take a photograph that I hoped would reflect those feelings as well as tell a story about individualism in a sea of uniformity and loneliness.
