About the Image(s)
Detail: I photographed these two young travellers taking a break. I son’t know if they were on the road or just coming back from shopping but they were happy together and I asked if I could photograph them and they readily agreed. I like the detail in the shot which I think helps create a kind of story even if we do not know quite what it is. Fuji XT3 1/125 f8 ISO 400

Another great street portrait, Peter. You captured nice expressions. They seem happy and relaxed together after a shopping spree. Nice light and shadows. Sharp details. It is a good story and well captured.   Posted: 12/10/2024 16:56:36

Peter, of course your technicals are all well executed. The boots seem large, but I think that works well because they contrast with the gentle, happy expressions of the two faces. The discarded fag ends (cigarette butts) give a sense of place/environment.
Your crop includes the canvas bag which does direct the narrative, and I think the crop was effected by the bench. To my eyes it makes the image physically imbalanced (bags vs woman, with man as center) and I would suggest that their portraits as a "couple" might be enhanced ...   Posted: 12/11/2024 15:09:10

You can never tell, these days if this is a homeless couple with all their belongings in two bags or a happy suburban pair who have just been shopping. This picture raises questions - which is good - and, whatever they are, you tell a story about them.   Posted: 12/15/2024 15:24:33
