About the Image(s)
Daylilies in my garden were blooming nicely this summer. I picked one and set it up inside against a black background. My camera was set on a tripod, and a softbox was used for continuous lighting. Processed in Photoshop and Nik Silver Efex.

Barbara,
I applaud the care in taking this image (tripod, background and lighting) which has in my opinion resulted in a clear, focused image : a sufficient depth of field. I like the myriad of lines but more the contrast between the broad leaves and the tubular stamen (?). For me the tonality is well chosen giving a softness to the subject.
The only aspect I would possibly modify is the orientation because I would like to emphasize the diagonal provided by the leaves. [ I cheated using generative fill for my first time :-) ]   Posted: 11/02/2024 16:53:48

Lovely. The composition is spot on and the clarity and sharpness of the detail is superb. Can't be faulted.   Posted: 11/11/2024 10:03:11

Barbara, this is another beautiful image. You have caught the delicacy and structure of this bloom very well. Whilst I can see what Gerard is saying, for me your composition shows the bloom in a far fuller way - changing the orientation would make it somewhat constrained. I like it as it is.   Posted: 11/12/2024 16:21:20

Barbara--Another lovely flower study. The cluster of curved lines is expressive like a dancer. I wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 11/16/2024 16:31:01

A very nice image. I like it very much, just as it is. Just for grins I might turn it left for right to see how it looks.   Posted: 11/17/2024 23:13:44
