About the Image(s)

This is a prothonotary warbler. They are not uncommon in this area - but are difficult for me to shoot.
First, I tend not to be able to readily spot them - I rely on my daughter who is extremely good at spotting them.
Second , they tend to flit around quickly.
Third, and more frustratingly, I seem to always have an issue when I see one. I have seen these birds pose for me but the photo I get is extremely over exposed, under exposed, one time my camara battery chose that precise moment to die and another time, my focus locked up for a minute.
I do not have these issues with other subjects.

This is a fantastic bird! Don't worry, there are particularly difficult subjects for everyone.   Posted: 07/10/2024 13:18:43

I'm happy you captured this beautiful warbler for us to see! You did an excellent job bringing out it's vivid yellow and iridescent blue!! Some birds are very 'flitty' which makes it extra special when get the shot! :)   Posted: 07/10/2024 22:44:28

Very nice! This is one on my bucket list. We get them for just a couple months and they are not easy to photograph. You have done a nice job capturing him bringing out his colors.   Posted: 07/27/2024 00:04:32
