About the Image(s)

It has been at the beginning of my bird photography in 2016. I was searching for the right equipment (camera, lens, tripod) and of course the most difficult fact: locations, where I can find my targets. A little pond in the near (Region of Hanover, Germany) was the place of many different arts. In fact, I caught this greenhank chasing a water strider. Unfortunately too much mosquitos hab been between me and the scene, so I had to clean up the water. This picture shows authentic the scene, no falsifying changes.

Picture was taken with Canon 7D Mark II, Sigma Sport 150-600mm by 546mm (distance about 30 Meter), fixed tripod. Ap. 7.1; 1/800 sec; ISO 400.

I also love mirror shots! Not always easy to find calm water, let alone having a bird's beak perfectly touching the water and ready to capture a water strider! Great photo and tells a wonderful story! I'm impressed you cleaned the water to keep it authentic.   Posted: 07/10/2024 22:52:45

Nice capture at the right moment. The silhouette is very nice and I like the wake behind him that gives a sense of his motion. I have never heard of a greenshank so I learned a new species. They look like willets that we have in my area.   Posted: 07/27/2024 00:17:56
