October 2026 - Bright Colors - Nasty Taste
About the Image(s)
Nikon Z8, 600mm, ISO 720, f/6,3,1/2500sec
Using long lenses always brings surprises. I was so intent on photographing this juvenile Little Blue Heron that I never noticed the Eastern Lubber Grasshopper until I got home and downloaded my photos!

Roy - There's a clear and engaging story here that I find absolutely delightful. I made a couple of gentle adjustments, opening the shadows on the post to reveal a little more detail and softening the highlights on the subject to help keep the viewer's attention on it. I thought these refinements brought out more of what already makes this photograph so appealing. Great job with this, one of your more engaging efforts :-) Posted: 10/07/2026 22:08:27
I absolutely love this and agree that the heron is a bit too bright. Posted: 10/10/2026 12:05:23
