Jeremy, what can I say, this is another beautiful bird portrait! Well-executed, terrific color, outstanding composition, and the subject isolation couldn't be better. You nailed the exposure and the diagonal perch draws the viewer naturally to the subject. As usual, just excellent.

With the subject's angle vis-à-vis the camera, I think f5.6 or f8 may have brought a bit more of the bill and body into sharper focus. I also wonder if slightly toning down the bright green background would have allowed you to show off the subject's vibrant colors even more. Lastly, a bit of catchlight in the eye would have added just a touch more sparkle and life to an already excellent portrait.

This is a wonderful bird portrait Jeremy! The bird is looking into the camera, turning its head in the other direction. I would only try to lighten the eyes a little bit, so that the brightness in them becomes more visible.   Posted: 08/14/2026 15:06:57

Jeremy, this was a good moment to take this photo. The bird is perfect sharp and the background wonderful smooth. I like the green as a color of natur. Two possibilities: A photo for PSA Nature - perfect as it is; sharpness is not so strong, but strone enough and the picture looks natural. Other possibility: You want to improve the picture for yourself; then I am with Roy and take out the branch in the background.   Posted: 08/17/2026 21:02:02
