About the Image(s)
Being once again in a hut in the Netherlands, we had the oppornity to watch the kingfisher exploring his environment. No more fishing, he examined leaves and other things swimming in the water. I shot a serial about this and was about to delete this photo as I realized the waterdrop. Well, Cappuccino!
Canon R5, Ap. 5.6, 400mm (200-800mm Canon) on tripod, shutterspeed 1/2000, ISO 5000. Got rid of the noise with Topaz. Cropping photo and small adjustments - that's all!

Just beautiful Peter, and the water droplet makes this image - glad you caught it :-). The stillness and focus on the droplet are beautiful choices, it's a very contemplative image. Excellent detail, color, and shallow depth of field, and the background bokeh separates the subject from its background perfectly. As always, terrific job.   Posted: 11/08/2025 19:29:36
Congratulations for this well captured moment! Butch has already pointed out the virtues of the picture in great detail. However to me the color balance seems to be slightly off. I never seen such a reddish color on the crop of the bird before.   Posted: 11/09/2025 10:52:44
As with the above comments, a great photograph. An eye would have made it perfect.   Posted: 11/10/2025 17:38:54
The tip of the Kingfisher's beak touching the crystal-clear water drop, and the small secondary drop, are magical!! The front orange feathers seem just a bit soft. It's a beautiful image and as Butch said, very contemplative!   Posted: 11/10/2025 23:19:31
