About the Image(s)
The photo is taken with Canon EOS R6, the lens was Canon RF 100-500
f/4,5-7,1 L IS USM. ISO 6400, 454 mm, f/9, T 1/160 sec. In Lightromm I made crop, with auto tone corrected exposure, made black and white clipping. Denoised with AI. After sharpening and edge masking in Photoshop adjusted levels, resized image, and in Topaz Sharpen AI adjusted sharpness.

Ernoe, I like your picture. Jays are colourful and curious. They are tried out the whole environment before they are acting. It's good, catch them n a calm moment like this one! I know, that you are very busy in international contests. I think, that the background is still too restless and the bird would be more powerful with a little bit saturation to show more from the brown parts.   Posted: 11/08/2025 16:50:34
Thank you Peter for your useful advice. I will try redeveloping the picture.   Posted: 11/09/2025 10:56:21
Enroe - you captured an outstanding behavioral moment - the bird with a nut in its beak tells a clear, engaging story.
Your framing is excellent save for the clipped branch on the right, in my VF I used AI to complete the branch. At the same time, the inclusion of those mossy branches adds texture and context giving it a natural color contrast between the blue wing bars and muted background. Also,
the visible eye and open beak provide strong engagement. Lastly, I thought the background a bit bright in spots detracting from the subject, so I darkened considerably in my VF

I agree with Butch's crop and a darker background. Always like it when the subject is looking at you! Great job.   Posted: 11/10/2025 17:44:16
The textures of the bark are a lovely contrast to the soft delicate feathers of this gorgeous bird. Its glassy eye has beautiful color, focus and catchlights. I feel like I'm there looking right at it! :)   Posted: 11/10/2025 23:26:41
