About the Image(s)
We had been in a hut in Netherlands. A very good place to watch birds - and the kingfisher. It was really great to see his ceremony catching fishes. Here is only one of many photos from hie diving times. Shot with a Canon R5 and Canon 200-800mm on tripod with a shutterspeed of 1/6400, ISO 6400 and aperture 9 (default of the lens).

Great shot Peter! The 1/6400 sec has frozen the movement. Too bad that the background is not homogenous.   Posted: 03/01/2025 15:01:15
You are absolutely right everyone, the backgroud is a catastrophe! With my 200-800 lens I have only the option of aperture 9 (by 200 mm). Next time, when I'm there I will use my 70-200 with aperture around 2.8 to 4. More than that I hope the light would be better! Surely I will get pictures like that, the kingfisher dived 9 times that day - he knows why, ha!   Posted: 03/01/2025 19:49:12
What can I say Peter - we all see it. However, let's focus on the spectacular capture of kingfisher in full dive mode - that's your story, very nice job with the capture.   Posted: 03/06/2025 09:01:12
I agree. The kingfisher is incredible.   Posted: 03/09/2025 14:17:21
I love your Kingfisher's vivid complementary colors and acrobatic dive! The iridescent turquois and catchlight in the eye take the spotlight. Well done! Did it catch a meal?   Posted: 03/10/2025 16:34:33
Kathleen, jepp, he did. Several times. Unfortunately I cannot post all of them. Great location!

Great shot of the kingfisher and its beautiful colors. We have them here, but not this colorful. You did a great job of capturing him mid air and looking very focused on his prey. Nice job.   Posted: 03/27/2025 15:29:59
