About the Image(s)
I took this photo seven years ago at a pond near Hanover, Germany. The bird sat only 5 meters from me on a branch. It was perfect, that I was beyond the minimal distance of my lens.
Camera Canon 7D Mark II, Sigma 150-600mm by 600mm, Aperture 7.1, ISO 1250 and shutter speed 1/1250 sec.

Great Photograph! Sharp, nicely composed and I like the yellow background.   Posted: 12/05/2024 12:49:00

Exquisite detail, catch light in both eyes and classic off-center composition. Peter, another outstanding image from you but let me ask a question - the subject's tail feathers are a bit soft, so do you think that would militate against you in a salon competition?   Posted: 12/07/2024 20:31:00

Butch, this picture is not developed very much and only with allowed tools. It gained three acceptances within PSA-salons and was one title set in Galaxy.
The "smooth" tail is dued to the low distance (about 5 meters away), so that parts which are a liitle bit longer are not pictured sharp.   Posted: 12/07/2024 20:54:39

The harmonious colors, detailed feathers and front facing gaze of the Blue Tit are perfect. The decorative fresh caught meal adds the finishing touch! I love the image as is! I'm curious how you achieved the yellow background?   Posted: 12/09/2024 18:06:23

I like the complementary colour of the background. The main them of the picture: The bird's eyes, face and its prey, all of which are pretty sharp. The bird's soft tail isn't very distracting. It comes from the small depht of field of the 600 mm telephoto lens.   Posted: 12/11/2024 18:12:46
