About the Image(s)
This Reddish Egret was taken at Merritt Island in Florida. They use their wings to shield the water and sun to better see the fish.

Gorgeous! I love the composition - the curve of its wings with it reflection forming a circle - perfection...

Ha, what a picture! Right moment to capture the situation. Sharp, with mirror - top!

A simply elegant image!! I love the shape and reflection of the outstretched wing. Thanks for sharing that it does this to shield the water and sun. Did the Egret catch the fish?! :)   Posted: 11/11/2024 19:25:54

Julia, to me the Reddish Egret is the best performer of the birds, specially when fishing. The dance they put is just unique. Your image is sharp and at pick of action given by the water splash. They are very fast, so you have to shoot in rapid bursts. My only observation is that the image has an overall bluish-Magenta hue. I worked it to my eyes taste. Great image.   Posted: 11/30/2024 16:44:15
