I love the water reflection.

This is really nice Bill! Such pretty country in Utah; this is so different from the canyons and red rock. I love the simplicity of this image and can linger in it a long time. How fortunate to get the sun behind the cloud avoiding a lot of blasted highlights. I was surprised to find it's a river, it looks so calm. The sunset light is the big impact and pulls you right in to the center and then start lingering on the clouds and reflections. The texture and color of the grass is a nice contrast to the smooth water. It's a little on the dark side but I sure like the dark trees against the sky line. It's a bit too saturated for me but the sharpening looks fine without halos around the trees.   Posted: 08/03/2026 21:29:41

This is a beautifully lit landscape with strong reflections and a dramatic sky. The tree line feels a bit dark compared to the sky-pulling up those midtones could help. Great work   Posted: 08/22/2026 23:05:44

Thanks for all the comments. I cropped the top of the clouds and like that. I also brought the temperature down some and backed off on the saturation. I prefer to keep the grasses and trees on the dark side to make it look more natural since the sun is not shining directly on them. I feel they help frame the reflection since that is the main subject along with the sky.   Posted: 08/24/2026 21:06:17

Hi Bill. I like your original, but really like your re-edited version. Particularly the saturation and color temp changes. It feels more peaceful with the backed off colors which I think is in keeping with the scene. The sunset feels like one to quietly enjoy where the original was shouting a bit more.

Other things that are nice are the grouping of three trees and the leading line the grass makes to sweep one back into the image. Wonderful image.   Posted: 08/25/2026 11:40:35
