About the Image(s)
I was preparing to present a photography workshop in Italy, and I was searching for possible hands on photography locations.
I literally stumbled across a residential courtyard and was impressed with the sense of spatial depth, framed by the centuries old structures.
The image was recorded on my Nikon D850 SLR with a 35mm lens.
This specific photograph conveys exactly what I saw. I did not add or remove any objects or elements. Given the recent features of Generative AI in software, I have reverted back to more traditional photography. That means I was simply exploring and discovering scenes that were aesthetically pleasing to my eyes, and after clicking the shutter release, I only edited the tones.
I only work with light emanating from or reflected off of surfaces, and then recorded on light sensitive media . . . in this case, a digital sensor.

I am drawn to the warm reflected light at the distant end of the courtyard. It is reminiscent of the sort of reflected light one sees and appreciates in the canyons of the Southwest U.S. It makes me want to explore that end of the courtyard further.   Posted: 11/16/2025 22:59:14
