About the Image(s)
The attached photograph was record following a workshop I led to Italy.
The scene is in the nave of Santuario Madonna della Costa, in San Remo, Liguria, Italy.
The photograph is a multi image vertical panorama recorded with a Canon 17mm Tilt Shift lens on a Sony A7rIV camera body.
For me, the most exciting aspect of Architectural Photography is capturing interior volumetric spaces.
The level of detail on the walls and ceiling of the church is extraordinary!
I set my lens to f/11 on a very sturdy tripod and recorded 9 exposures, one stop apart for each of the sections.
I positioned myself in the exact centre of the aisle within the nave in order to celebrate the symmetrically designed and constructed church.
The current structure of the sanctuary was built in 1630 to replace the previous church. The dome was built between 1770 and 1775.

Great shot! Symmetry, texture, details, mood - all are well captured.
Is this handheld shot?

I made use of a sturdy tripod. The details are noted in my photo description.
