Bridge over Kinmen Strait by Tom Lee

October 2026 - Bridge over Kinmen Strait

About the Image(s)

Description:

This photo was captured in August when I visited Kinmen Island, which was once a major battleground between Taiwan and the PRC. I was stationed on the island for one year, from 1973 to 1974, and this past summer was my first visit since I left in 1974.

I was drawn to the scene by the mist surrounding the 3.5-mile-long bridge crossing the narrow strait between Great Kinmen and “Little” Kinmen Island, as well as the defensive barriers on the beach.

Camera & Post:

Captured with a Lumix G9 II and a Leica 12??“60 mm lens at 1/3200 sec, f/3.7, ISO 100. Processed in Lightroom with tonal adjustments and selective dodging and burning using masks. Noise reduction was applied using Topaz Photo AI.

Before I read the description, I thought it was a battle field. 1. Thank you for your service and 2. I like how it pulls you in.   Posted: 10/06/2026 10:46:20
