About the Image(s)
This was taken in Brookings Oregon in the summer of 24 It is the background for my desktop.
In ACR I brought down the highlights and raised the levels of everything else. Photoshop I add a curves adjustment layer . I darken the people. Add a chiaroscuro effect.

I like what you have done with this photo by increasing the exposure so we can see a bit more detail in the foreground and beach whild still keeping the main interest in the sunset, sea and seastacks in the water.
In my opinion I think some dehazing would help along with some sharpening. I also think it would help if the people on the beach could have been more to the left, as the way they are I see them more as an afterthought.
Still for me this is a great shot.   Posted: 08/10/2026 22:09:40

I unfortunately did not notice the people in the image until I got home I agree with you. I could delete them completely, or because this would be going in pictorial color I can just ever so slightly move the people. What do you think would make a better impact. I know what way I'm leaning. Thanks for your help.

Darcy, I'd first try and move them more to the center and see how that works. If you don't like it then I'd try to remove them.   Posted: 08/12/2026 15:48:25
Hi Darcy. I love the mood. I can echo what Ed said about dehazing and the position of the people in the frame.   Posted: 08/11/2026 19:03:49
Thank you. Could you answer the same question I asked Ed.

I would say move. Just to the other side of the little hobble to the left of them   Posted: 08/12/2026 14:12:25

I will post the result from the move. I will say I was leaning towards moving them also.   Posted: 08/12/2026 15:59:31

Darcy, agree with what the other said, move the people in! beautiful sunset here. Maybe even crop this to see how it looks as a 16x10 or 16x9 cropping some of the sand and sky. Nice job!   Posted: 08/21/2026 20:54:04
Well the move didn't work out well. I kept having an artifact left behind. I will try however the crop . Thank you Dawn.   Posted: 08/21/2026 23:06:02
