Compositionally I think this mood can be further enhanced by cropping the sky just above the bottom branch on the left. I go along with Carol and Francois in being most impressed with the peaceful relaxing scene that makes me just want to sit on the shore and enjoy it. I always prefer photos that easily create an emotional reaction for me, and this does it. I think you are making great use of negative space, both with the sky and water. The symmetrical composition is a big plus in my opinion, I appreciate the soft colors and the way you have the tree line silhouetted. I agree with Francois about removing the branch in the upper left corner but I wouldn't crop down as I think the photos has nice vertical balance the way you have it   Posted: 08/12/2026 16:31:28

I like the reflection Bob and agree maybe even more of a pano crop. The sky is just blue, so, in my opinion you could crop it. I also am distracted by the pine needles on the left of the image.

Your composition is good and peaceful. If you crop it as a pano I think that will also bring attention to the reflection.   Posted: 08/12/2026 17:57:04

Hi Bob, this is a really tranquil shot! I hope you don't mind, but took a crack at how I might change it a bit. I cropped it to 16x9 and then added a radial filter for the sun and boosted the white, deceased clarity, dehaze and clarity. I also protected the shadows of the treeline. Lastly, I added a grad filter on the top just to bring the eye toward the center a bit more. This is just my interpretation of a really cool shot.
