I am going through images I took last year. I will say since my husband passed away I'm drawn to empty paths. That said we were in the Redwoods in Northern California and I was enjoying going around in my chair. I caught no one on the trail and the way I was looking you could not tell what was behind the bend.
In post I denoised. took down the highlights so you could see more of the blue sky, I also upped the shadows. Then I took point color and targeted the moss on the branches because they looked very dull in the raw image and not what I remembered. I also targeted some of the brownish dead leaves and such. I then brought it into photoshop.
I removed a couple of the branches that were bothering me. I then masked the lower right hand corner and adjusted the color to make the greens lighter. I finished by dodging the branches and the moss to follow . I do need some advice on the path; it looks a little lifeless now.

I would brighten the circle like area at the end of the pathway. It would draw the viewer into the scene. I do enjoy the sense of isolation the image conveys   Posted: 07/12/2026 18:19:16

Oh wow this makes me want to walk the path, or perhaps look for fairies. It feels peaceful. The only thing I would try would be to flip it horizontally so your eye goes left to right.   Posted: 07/13/2026 10:28:59
