About the Image(s)

’ve owned a 9 mm wide-angle lens for some time but hadn’t been very successful in managing the image distortion. Two weeks ago, I watched a YouTube video that offered practical tips on how to take advantage of a super-wide lens, which motivated me to dust it off and practice with it.

This location, just a 10-minute drive from my home, is one I visit often. I’ve photographed this scene from many angles before, but this was my first time using a wide-angle lens here. Almost immediately, I noticed how the lens makes the foreground elements appear larger and more prominent while exaggerating the sense of depth and distance between foreground and background. I’m very pleased with both the result and the insight gained from this experience.
The image was captured with a Lumix G9 II and a Leica 9 mm f/1.7 lens at 1/320 sec, f/5.6, and ISO 100. It was processed in Lightroom and Photo AI.

Well done with the wide angle lens. Everything came out well, despite the variable lighting.
But what is the subject of the statue? It's your main subject.   Posted: 11/06/2025 04:23:49

Nice shot! If there is warping at the edges (a common problem with wide angle lenses) I sure don't see it, either you cropped them out of the image or your corrective studies are paying off!   Posted: 11/06/2025 06:57:05
