This was along the coast last summer near Brookings Oregon. That whole summer was a learning adventure for me. Processing I cropped the sky in. lowered the exposure, highlights, shadows, whites and blacks. I then masked the sky upped the whites and highlights lowered the shadow. Inverted the mask and added texture to the rocks.

I think you have done a good job bringing out some of the details in the background with your processing. Compositionally, I know you mentioned it was a learning experience for you, for this image, I would like to see a bit more foreground and less sky as there isn't much to offer with no clouds.
