About the Image(s)
The image was taken in April in the Goldengate park close to little town of Clarens. We went there for the specific change of the Poplar trees in Autumn. I went for the vertical exposure due to the very strong vertical lines in the image
Settings were:
Tripod: Yes
Filters: Yes, 3stop Graduated ND filter
Settings: Nikon z8, Nikon 16-35mm F4 lens, 16mm, F11, 1/15s (middle exposure of three). Other two exposures of HDR stack are 1 2/3 stops abov aand below the correct exposure. Combined in Photomatix and processed in Lightroom

Great depth of field and agree with the vertical choice for composition. I like the reflections of the poplar trees.
I think if you whitened the water in the foreground and the cloud reflection just a little, I think my eye would move through the frame a bit more easily and land on the great lighting in the trees.   Posted: 05/12/2025 00:24:23
