About the Image(s)

Figuring out the timing of the waves and pushing the shutter to capture the movement is a lesson in patience, lots of shots, and a rain cover for your camera!

Shot on Nikon Z w/ 14-30mm lens at 16mm. ISO 320, 0.6 seconds at f/10.0

Processed in Lightroom and PhotoShop.
LR global adjustments: I tried the new “Adaptive Color” Profile feature as a starting point, then decreased highlights, shadows, and black, increased whites. Increased vibrance a tiny bit and decreased saturation. I then went to the calibration tool and increased red, green and blue saturation a few points.
Local adjustments: I masked quite a few points where the sunrise was lightning up the mountain and increased whites and increased the temp a small amount.
Once all that was done, I brought it over to PS, cropped it to 16x9 as I didn’t think the top of the image added value, added a photo filter to some highlighted sections on the mountain and as well as to warm the clouds on the right side. I also added a curves adjustment to boost the contrast a bit, added a vignette.
