About the Image(s)

I just went for an easy walk on the beach by my house, and this was there waiting for me to take a picture. I'm intrigued by all the different shapes of driftwood that show up on our beaches. I increased the contrast level and color balance to bring out the browns of the wood a bit more. I also worked a little on the shadows to bring out more detail and of course since I'm at the Pacific I had to do a good bit of haze reduction. I took the shot with my Canon R; RF 24-105 lens at 40mm, ISO 100, aperture f/13 shutter speed 200. It was a nice bright sunny day, perfect for a walk on the beach

I like how you cropped and worked the image. I am now drawn to the person walking on the beach you brought it out well.   Posted: 02/16/2025 08:24:01

Ed, I think you did a good job with the color processing. The raw (as always), looks a bit flat/dull and maybe a tad underexposed? Nice job with your adjustments.

I think it would be helpful to darken the background a bit more to highlight the driftwood a bit more. I can't recall I f you use LR, if so, perhaps select the object (or subject) and invert that mask. Or even a vignette around it, just to make it punch a bit more.   Posted: 02/19/2025 00:54:45
