The Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. I was in CR to shoot birds in November, but I couldn't resist doing a little bit of landscape. 12 shot HDR focus. stack (4 3-shot +-2EV HDR shots then focus stacked in photoshop). Sony A1 with 16-35/4 @ ISO 400, f 9.0, 1/200" (the base exposure).

Love the DOF on this, great job with the stacking! Guessing it wasn't very windy?
I like how you used the plants on each side to frame the mountain (volcano as I see some smoke?). Your processing is right on point for this as well to my eye, I like how the sun hits the side of the mountain, but the rest of the image is in shade/shadow providing great, even coverage. Thanks! It wasn't too windy, but the plants were quite close (maybe 10"?) so it needed a stack to get everything in focus. Posted: 01/08/2025 01:45:40
