About the Image(s)
Back to my primary comfort zone. Living on the central coast I'm fascinated with our rushing streams and dense green forest with their moss covered trees. So I went out for a short hike, took a few shots and this is the one I like the best.
Composition was a problem because to view past the foliage on the side of the creek I had to get precariously on the edge and really couldn't move around much without going for a swim. I had to do a good bit of cropping. I did increase the white balance to provide more exposure and I also increased the vibrance and contrast as well as altering the color balance a bit to bring out more of the green. I took the shot with my Canon R; RF24-105 lens at 65mm; f/10; ISO 1000 and exposure 1/50 sec. I had to hand hold the camera as there was no space to setup a tripod however I like the detail in the flowing water. I'd like to hear your opinions.

Nice job with your shutter speed and capturing this. Given how precarious it was to capture this, I wonder, next time, if you might go a bit wider then 65mm which might given you more leeway for the leveling of the image? When looking at the original image, I really like the leaves in the front of the frame and think that might frame the image a bit more.
I agree with Paul in that the greens are a bit too oversaturated to my eye. That said, maybe putting a radial around it and darkening the ones in the foreground a bit?   Posted: 01/18/2025 19:24:14
