About the Image(s)

I’ve been told the fields of Palouse are never the same, one season they might be full of yellow flowers, others green fields, some dormant brown.
39mm, .4 seconds at f/18, ISO 500 on a tripod.

I processed this to highlight the ridges of the hills and darkened the sky a tiny bit.

I had never heard of the Palouse. It looks spectacular from your picture, Dawn. I really like the meandering path and the way the lines in the flowers follow its general shape. It makes me wonder who walks along this path and where are they going? The pinkish hue of the sky adds mystery.   Posted: 12/14/2024 03:08:55

I've been through the Palouse several times and I've always been impressed with the endless rolling hills covered by the fields of grain but I could never figure out how to capture the sense of the scene effectively. To me your photo is capturing the essence of the Poluse as it seems to accentuate the continuous rolling hills with their rows of grain. I like the way you have the two colors to complement each other and the path between the fields draw my eye into the photo. Your focus looks to be sharp in the foreground and I like how the hills and sky in the distance start to be hazy. I think the bit of color in the sky is a nice addition.   Posted: 12/19/2024 17:22:15

I love the color the sky the wavy lines. This image gives me a mystical dreamy kind of muted feeling. I am always the weird one here If you look in the right side upper part of the yellow you see a line going almost straight it isn't a distraction but makes my mind wonder what was this guy thinking as he was plowing?   Posted: 12/21/2024 18:56:14
