About the Image(s)

I'm not sure if this would be considered Cityscape or Street Photography but I thought I'd give it a try in hopes that it would be OK with all of you. And this time it's not Eastern Oregon; its on the side of the main street of my little town on the Oregon Coast. These two old guys just caught my fancy so I took the shot.

Obviously I did some serious cropping along with increasing the contrast and a little bit of color saturation. It was a mildly overcast day, so some soft light to work with. I didn't have a lot of time to work the shot as I wanted to get the image before they saw me and looked up, so I just put the camera to my eye and clicked the shutter (and right after that some other people walked by and spoiled the scene so no chance for a second try).

I took the shot with my Canon EOS 7D; EF 50mm prime lens; shutter speed 1/80; ISO 400; aperture priority with f/16.

I would call this a Peoplescape or a Dogscape depending on who you think the stars of the photo are! Photographing people is hard to do and I agree you captured an interesting moment here. You must have had your camera ready to go.
The post processing has really helped make the picture more interesting with the cropping and color enhancement.   Posted: 12/14/2024 21:38:51

IMO it just seemed like the image was too tight. I hope you don't mind I made the people co characters with the street. It was saying what is the context. With that open sign next to the open door the story becomes endless.
