About the Image(s)

This was taken near Marco Island, Florida (south, near Naples) and at low tide, so that I could be as close to the water as possible. I was probably only about ankle deep (knee deep at most). I got a little greedy as far as nailing the shot, and nipped the top of the head in the reflection. In Photoshop 5, after processing in Camera Raw, I did some creative editing by adding/restoring the top of the head using the clone tool with a soft brush. Easier doing it in the reflection because of the soft look of the water. Taken with a Nikon D500 with a 70-300 mm lens, and crop sensor. Probably around 1/2000 shutter speed.

Hey Jerry, You got a nice pose of the Snowy, one of my favorite birds. You nailed the clone since I did not even notice it before I read you info. Bruce   Posted: 07/04/2024 22:38:55

Very nice pose captured with the outstretched wings and tail, and one foot just touching down. The whites look good too, which can be a challenge with these guys in bright sun. Good idea to "fix" the head and nice work on it, I'd not have guessed it looking at the image.   Posted: 07/27/2024 18:56:30

Jerry also one of my favorites. I love the pose that's showing off the yellow slippers very nicely. Good job with the editing and the clone. I wish there was an easy way to get rid of all the little grasses sticking up, but maybe the great shot makes up for all the grass.   Posted: 07/27/2024 21:29:19

Yes very nice photo and processing too. I like the moment and especially the reflection plus of course the feather detail.   Posted: 07/28/2024 13:34:08
