Date of exposure: 11 ?January ?2023, ??12:07:10 Subject: BRAMHINY KITE CAUGHT A FISH. CAMERA: NIKON D7200, LENS 100-400 TELE ZOON TAMRON. Lens: f-stop f/13 , Focal Length: 400 mm (35MM focal length 600 mm), exposure time 1/1000 sec, 720 ISO, pattern metering, manual mode.
LOCATION: The Rushikulya River is one of the major rivers in Odisha, INDIA and covers the entire catchment area in the districts of Kandhamal and Ganjam of Odisha. The image shows a kite has caught a fish. EDITING: I used PS CS 2025 to edit the frame, by a desktop computer. I used adobe camera raw 18 plug-in to enhance clarity, shadow details, brightness and exposure. I also used Topaz software to reduce digital noise and to sharpen details.

I think the color balance in the original was more accurate; it seems that the final has gone a little too blue. The bird's face has a grayish cast to it. But your image is cropped well and the caught fish adds to the story. This may have been the case where the bird was just too far away, making it difficult to crop in and end up with a favorable resolution. Posted: 08/14/2026 13:36:20
A nice moment captured- good pose with the wings outstretched. The fish is quite visible which is a bonus.

Sunat - very well taken! Your 1/1,000 speed was enough to freeze the action for this large bird, but may not have done so well for a smaller, faster one. I like your crop with the bird perfectly positioned in the image.
I don't know what went wrong though with the colour - it looks great in your original. None of your stated PP actions should have resulted in the removal of all greens - the grassy bank looks very off and the water colour would be far better in the original hues. As Jerry pointed out, the birds white feathers are no longer white. Nice image - just needs the colour/white balance adjusting. Posted: 08/18/2026 13:50:35

You have captured a great moment with the kite just after catching the fish. Unfortunately, the bird is a little too far away to fill more of the frame, which could have resulted in an image with greater quality and visual impact.
