Date of exposure: 12-01-2023 16:20. CAMERA: Nikon D800, Tamron 100-400 mm tele zoom. Lens: f-stop f/8, Focal Length: 380 mm, exposure time 1/1000 sec, ISO 1000, Pattern metering. LOCATION: Village Mangala Jodi, CHILIKA LAKE - more than 230 species of birds live in Mangala Jodi, Odisha, India. It is also one of the largest wintering grounds in Asia. EDITING: I used PS CS 2025 to edit the frame, by a desktop computer. I used adobe camera raw 17.2 plug-in to enhance clarity, shadow details, brightness and exposure. I also used Topaz software to reduce digital noise and to sharpen details.

Nice capture and the bird's catch tells the story. I think you could have cropped in from the right some more, and even a bit from the left. If you compare the color balance with the original, it seems that you went a little too blue. Also, the image could be leveled out some.   Posted: 12/12/2025 16:22:06
Sunat - nice timing with fish in mouth and I think you had low afternoon side lighting striking the rear of the bird. I like it.
Your PP work has produced a nice dusk feeling which (on my device) emphasised the warm side-lighting on the rear on beak/fish. The tones differ quite a bit from the original - in a positive sense. My only suggestion is to darken the water areas above the bird as the 2 blue lines of clear water stand out too much. Nice image.   Posted: 12/14/2025 18:58:34
