About the Image(s)

This was taken at Tiger Tail beach in Marco Island, Florida, near Naples. Not too much time spent in editing ??“ just playing around with settings in Camera Raw and then opening up into On1 FX8. I went with a more vertical orientation. Shot using my Nikon D500 with Nikon 70-300mm lens, set at maximum along with my camera crop sensor. The ambient light allowed for a low ISO and fast shutter speed.

Jerry, Fantastic image with a great subject, action, pose reflection, s-curve, triangle and more. my only suggestion is it seems to have so noise, dust spots or other clutter in the background. I did add just a bit of contrast as well but overall, a great image. Bruce   Posted: 11/07/2025 23:57:56

Jerry - I like this! It's walking with real purpose or intent, giving the image a story and character. I like the square crop. Sharp and colours seem realistic to me (ie not over-saturated). The background does seem a bit muddy, but I wouldn't have thought its noise (you mentioned low ISO).   Posted: 11/18/2025 16:32:28

That bird has quite the stride! That wide stride combined with the lowered neck show focus and intent, a nice story. The colors are pretty, that aqua water sets off the yellow legs well. I like your crop- enough space for the bird to move in, but not too much.
I wonder if the clutter in the background is debris in the water itself, a condition I see here a lot. A shallower f/stop, or a lower shooting angle (as in really low) can help to make those disappear. Of course a lower angle makes the reflection different so that might not have been an option.
I like this a lot, a very attractive image.   Posted: 11/21/2025 22:01:54
