Jerry - I like this! It's walking with real purpose or intent, giving the image a story and character. I like the square crop. Sharp and colours seem realistic to me (ie not over-saturated). That bird has quite the stride! That wide stride combined with the lowered neck show focus and intent, a nice story. The colors are pretty, that aqua water sets off the yellow legs well. I like your crop- enough space for the bird to move in, but not too much.
I wonder if the clutter in the background is debris in the water itself, a condition I see here a lot. A shallower f/stop, or a lower shooting angle (as in really low) can help to make those disappear. Of course a lower angle makes the reflection different so that might not have been an option.
