About the Image(s)

About: In Kumana Park in Sri Lanka, we were lucky to come across a feeding frenzy at a pond. Crocodiles and a variety of large wading birds were gobbling up fish. Even better -- there was action close enough to the road that we could photograph it from our safari vehicle. Small fish go down fast, but the bigger ones take some effort and give a lot more opportunity for photographs. This is a Painted Stork, which was quite a common bird at the park. Nikon Z8, 180-600mm at 600mm, 1/800 f/7.1 ISO640. Processing: Cropped, increased saturation, clarity and contrast (using Levels tool). Because the bird was darker than the water, I selected it and increased the exposure slightly to try to even it out more. Denoised with Topaz.
